A vintage Barbie "Junior Designer" iron. Should fetch $10.00.

Julie Newmar, legs and all, didn’t help the Viewmaster Batman reel set- lots of lookers, no takers. Not as I predicted, at all. And who would have thought (not I, for one) the GI Joe reels would sell for an outstanding $28.00. Go, Joe! Even the Planet of the Apes set sold, bid up to $15.00. But Batman hits the skids? I may just pull that picture of Julie Newmar off of the posting. On second thought…

Other stuff that’s out the door-
The two 1970s red-line Hot Wheels military vehicles did as expected (it happens sometimes): the jeep went for $16.00, the half-track for $26.00. Both Micronauts figures sold for a total of $18.50. The two auctions for drafting items (the ACU-ARC and a lot consisting of French curves, lettering templates, and such) sold to one buyer for a final tally of $25.71. The still-sealed, vintage deck of Snoopy and Woodstock cards found one bidder before it ended, going for $7.99.

But, what about Flippy, I hear you asking. Well, sadly, Flippy floundered and sank like a torpedoed tanker. Four people were watching, sixty people visited the auction, but nobody wanted to part with $24.99. Looks like I set the sights a little on the upper edge of the crosshair. I’ll try again with a lower starting price and see what happens.

A few auctions ending tonight are gradually inching upwards, specifically the lot of aircraft modelers tools (heat sealing tools and a nasty little device called a woodpecket) which is currently at $13.00 and a model plane balancing apparatus at $10.76.

Well, I put it off as long as possible- it’s time now to throw my manliness into the closet for a moment and commence dolly chat…the dozen (it turned out to be 13, actually) auctions for Barbie, friends, and similar doll accessories are showing some signs of life. The headband has a bid of $9.99 and pair of lovely black, rubber shoes with just the prettiest bow adornment has a bid of $6.99. Others are getting some watchers, even as we speak. I predict some will sell for more than I thought, some will sell for less, and some won’t sell at all. I think that covers all possibilities.

Now, how about those Nuggets (cracks open a cold one, puts feet on coffee table)…
