WARNING! THIS ARTICLE CONTAINS SPOILERS FROM TONIGHT'S UPCOMING DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES!
Last week, hunky gardener-turned-restauranteur, John Rowland (Jesse Metcalfe) returned to the fictional town of Fairview to further complicate the lives of Gaby (Eva Longoria-Parker) and Carlos (Richardo Antonio Chavira). In tonight's episode titled The God Why Don't You Love Me Blues, we learn that in the 7 years since viewers last saw John--keep in mind last year made a five-year leap--he has grown from a teen driven by desire into a self-assured man who is capable of thinking with his brain and seemingly driven to make Gaby jealous..
In this week's episode, Gaby doesn't approve of Carlos' sexy niece Ana (Maiara Walsh) spending time with Gaby's former boytoy John. This disproval causes Ana to question Gaby about her over-protective nature as far as Ana's working relationship and flirtation with John is concerned. Expect Ana to react in a not so expected manner when she learns the truth. Ana's job at John's restaurant comes to and end and with a brief attempt at reigniting their passion, John is once again gone from Wisteria Lane. According to recent interviews, Metcalfe has indicated, as with most Desperate storylines, we haven't necessarily seen the last of John.
Andrew (Shawn Pyfrom), who has been all but M.I.A so far this season figures into the Susan (Teri Hatcher) storyline when he tells Susan that Julie (Andrea Bowen) dropped out of medical school and had been waitressing prior to her return to Wisteria Lane. He also reveals Julie was involved with a married man. Susan should receive news that Julie is on the mend and expected to regain consciousness. When she wakes, Susan confronts her about her affair. Look for the newest neighbors to figure into Julie's past.
Last week, Lynette (Felicity Huffman) accepted a promotion at work, but continued to keep her pregnancy a secret from boss Carlos. As of late, Lynette has been providing much of the humor to the show, and this week will be no different. Being pregnant, her belly isn't the only thing getting bigger. She explains her newly ample bosom by telling Carlos she's had a boob job. Lynette's husband, Tom (Doug Savant) gets himself into hot water by commenting on Lynette's newly enhanced figure, but quickly makes amends.
New housewife, Angie (Drea de Matteo) bribes Lynette's son, Porter (Charlie Carver) into throwing a party for her son Danny (Beau Mirchoff) in an attempt to negate the bad vibe cause by his possible involvement in Julie's attack. More of the mystery of Anigie's family's past will begin to creep into light as Angie and Danny talk about Angie's scar and her hubby Dominic flirts with girls at Danny's party.
While preparing for a big wedding, Bree (Marcia Cross) and business partner Katherine (Dana Delany) both have a little trouble of their own. Bree receives a sext message from Karl (Richard Burgi) while planning the wedding of a young twenty-something couple. Meanwhile Katherine tells Bree she is in love. Bree might assume this means she's over Mike (James Denton), but when Katherine reveals to Bree she is convinced Mike still loves her and that Mike will dump Susan to get back with her, Bree braces herself for Katherine to self-destruct. Later as they put the finishing touches on the wedding they are catering, Katherine's unstable emotions cause her to go ballistic when she sees the wedding cake all set for the party.
One last tidbit: next week features a well-known actress who voices a character on another Sunday night series.
