Champions Online tentative open beta start date

Champions Online's release date is about two months away. That means an open beta is lurking somewhere in the future giving everyone a chance to be a Champion.
Champions Online Daily News has a tentative date for the beginning of open beta after spending some time in Cryptic Studios' headquarters in Los Gatos.
I can say that a firm date has been penciled in and although it’s not 100% confirmed it is slap bang in the middle of August.
A few weeks of open beta is pretty common so pay attention to those beta senses and get ready to become a Champion.
It doesn't hurt to apply for closed beta; go ahead and do that. And check out more coverage here because I dig the CO.
