Last seen in Lemuria, Stingray emerged from Princess Thalassa; a girl driven to madness.  Extremely emotional and gifted with magic makes her a recipe for disaster.

A serious of events led the Princess to what she became in time.  The death of her father, the King, and her mother's obsession with her brother became overwhelming.  At age 12 she managed to find some magical texts allowing her to harness the power of electricity.  These spells,

would let her use bioelectric shocks, like those of electrical eels, or allow her to hide herself within sudden dark inky clouds, like an octopus.

That very night she killed a man with those powers out of fear and confusion.  She later left her royal life while avoiding blame for the death she clearly caused.

Stingray's story is complicated since at one point she lost her memory.  Without those painful memories of her childhood she became a superhero instead of a supervillain.
