raveIt was the slow walk that made Crystal E feel depressed. Thoughts of work kept tickling her brain along with the fact that no matter how hard she tried, time kept going and she was getting closer to bed time, the horrid last page to a beautiful story book with nothing but the two words, “The End.” But that’s what the drug usually did to a person, she remembered. She had been high for so long that the sudden drop in emotion was very hard to handle, especially when one had such looming stress in their every day life. But she had to stop thinking about that, or else she’d begin to spiral downward and be unable to enjoy the rest of the night. She had to keep thinking about Ken’s long fingers wrapped around hers, about the colored pills she was about to purchase, about the music, the lights, her friends.
Ken had been weaving his way around the faceless people with her trailing behind, their arms linked by their clammy hands. As they were about to head into the tunnel like hallway where the staircase was, Ken made a sharp right and they walked head on into a large security guard with a tan ear piece looped around his bald head.
“Hey Bo,” Ken smiled. He let go of Crystal E’s hand, balled his fingers and put his knuckles up to the guard. The guard did the same and they pounded fists, then he stepped aside to let them through the little opening in the wall. Behind the large guard was indeed the inlet Ken was talking about and Crystal E was quite impressed with the clout this dealer had at this place.

“You’ve got to be kidding me,” Crystal E joked.
“Well, since I moved here, I’ve met some wild people and the underground league loves a foreigner,” Ken said.
            “The what?”
“Our supplier, where we get the bulk of our merchandise. I’m not from around here so they trust me, any other local dealer wouldn’t have access to these shipments.”
Crystal E laughed out loud. She was used to dealers talking themselves up, explaining why they’re product was better than the rest, but apparently she was getting the cream of the crop today. She knew he was most likely full of it, but she didn’t care, she would play a long and hope that she could continue to come back to him for all her partying needs. That was the plan, that is the way of the drug world.
