The 'Examiner' soaps beat: what's up on 'General Hospital' and 'Days of our Lives'

Port Charles has been ripe with activity lately and perhaps the most stunning story was Spinelli leaving Maxie at the altar because he loves her too much to marry her. Sigh. As soon as he talked about the baby he wanted to have, Maxie just about died but still took the trot down the aisle with an uncooperative Mac by her side to give her away. Maxie's dream about bearing Spin's children this week was stunning. She dreamt she was stuck with two kids while Spinelli and Jason loaded automatic weapons preparing to take off to tackle their next hit.
The sexual tension between Nikolas and Liz continued to build despite the fact that are each with someone else. Nik is with that totally irritating Emily clone known as Rebecca and Liz is seemingly tight at the hip with Lucky who hasn't been so very lucky in love to date. No matter how hard I try, I just can't warm up to Nik with Rebecca or for that matter, Lucky with Liz.

Meanwhile things are heating up in Salem over on Days of our Lives. Stefano blackmailed Kate into marrying him and EJ and Nicole took off for Paris. Brady runs into Arianna who reveals she knows all about Nicole's secret. Brady is stunned to hear this and forces Arianna to promise she won't tell a soul about what she knows. He then calls Nicole. EJ picks up Nicole's cell phone (she is still fussing with her hair) and doesn't say a word. Thinking it's a bad connection, Brady instructs Nicole to call him back as soon as possible because the secret is out. EJ naturally begins to wonder what this is all about. This happened shortly after Nicole was telling herself nothing and no one could hurt her in Paris.
