'General Hospital' - gal pals extraordinaire

Alexis is not having a great time of it these days. After placing the mayor under arrest for the possible murder of Brianna Hughes, he exposed to the media that Ms. Davis had an affair with him. He accuses her of placing him under arrest because he dumped her.
The media frenzy that followed after the scandal broke has resulted in several members of the press not to mention throngs of Port Charles citizens calling for her to step down as DA--and has pitted daughter Kristina against her.
Things go from bad to worse for Alexis when she is informed by the scrubs team (Robin and Patrick) that the mayor may not be responsible for the death of Brianna Hughes after all. In other words, had the mayor not been taken into custody, he never would have had a reason to expose her.
In the meantime, gal pal Diane has gotten wind of the scandal rocking her friend and she shows up to visit Alexis with a special bottle of wine she has been saving for just such an occasion.
The friendship between these two women has always added a special dimension to the mobster ridden activities that have become a staple in Port Charles. They are genuinely there for each other and the enjoyment they get from each other's company is spectacular to watch.
