There are certainly many different types of families existing on the planet and it can go without saying that blending two families when kids are involved is never an easy task.  Natalia and Olivia reached a sort of impasse today when they argues over Natalia's son Rafe and his job situation. Rafe cannot go to work for the Springfield PD because he has a record.  Olivia offers him a job and is abruptly told by Rafe to stay out of his career decisions because he thinks he might like to work for Alan Spaulding.

You can guess Olivia hated that idea.

Natalia and Olivia spar over Rafe's situation and Natalia got her back up after listening to Olivia's opinions about Rafe.  Basically Olivia told Natalie that Rafe was a grown man and should deal with his job issues as an adult.  Natalia can only hope that Emma never has a similar issue because Olivia is leaving her cold about now.  Sigh.  It is totally never easy to blend children into a new relationship but I suspect this couple will make it.

When Natalia storms out of Olivia's office, she runs into the priest guy who is missing her in church and Olivia gets a visit from a conflicted Daisy who wants to do some Spaulding family bashing which has always been one of Olivia's favorite sports.  Daisy chats with Olivia about James Spaulding as she rants about her hate for that family.  She tells Olivia she doesn't care all that much about James but she has been sort of hanging out with him and she does hate the fact that she's not supposed to want him just because he is a Spaulding.

Olivia and Daisy bond and for now, I think Natalia and Olivia are having a Daisy type of moment.  Separately right now they remain conflicted and believe because of kids, priests and life, they are not supposed to want each other.

Life is never simple and when Olivia told Daisy if she wanted to be with James Spaulding, she should , it seemed to be a reflection of how she feels about her own situation. Just go for it as they say!
