The much hyped wedding between Bianca (Eden Riegel) and Reese (Tamara Braun) has been heralded as a landmark event by many.  The marriage of the lesbian couple is indeed groundbreaking in terms of television broadcasting but the fact remains that we will barely get to see the honeymoon stage of this marriage if the wedding actually does take place because it's been widely reported that Riegel is opting out of her short contract but ABC wants Braun to remain.

So, if Riegel is exiting and Braun is staying they have to give the actor something to do, right?  All spoilers indicate that Reese who has lately become conflicted because of her attraction to Bianca's brother-in-law (Zach) will share a kiss with him the night before the wedding.  This wrinkle in the otherwise romantic storyline between the lesbian lovers who also share a child together has lit up soap opera message boards around the Internet with extra activity and passionate comments.  Allegedly Ryan witnesses that kiss and will in turn become conflicted over whether or not to share what he saw with Bianca.

This wedding setback becomes even more convoluted given the fact that Zach, the guy bringing out conflicted feelings in Reese was the sperm donor who allowed her and Bianca to share a child together.  This seems to be a huge turnoff for fans of the 'Rinks' saga who have already witnessed almost evey relationship Bianca has had disintegrate because of the conflicted partners she's been involved with in the past.

The wedding might be a landmark event but because fans already know Riegel isn't sticking around and Reese is attracted to Zach, it simply translates into the same old soaps stuff.  I say get the 'sperm donor' out of the picture and bring on Guiding Light's "Otalia."

ABC can hardly follow their groundbreaking lesbian wedding with a landmark lesbian divorce right out of the gate--or can they?  Most of us have seen our share of 'quickie' divorces on the soaps and we deal with it.  We just didn't want to see one here.

Riegel and Braun have been terrific in their portrayal of the star crossed lesbian lovers and it's just sad we will be robbed of seeing them enter into marriage with their ready made family for some decent period of time.  I wanted to know what you think the end result of "Rinks" will be and more importantly, I'd like to see how you feel about the situation as it stands right now.  Please share your comments below.

In the meantime, enjoy the video below of Bianca and Reese trying on their wedding dresses with Erica and Opal looking on.  It's a fun show segment.
