The talented James E. Reilly who served as headwriter on Days of Our Lives from 1992 to 1997 and again from 2003 to 2006 passed away over the weekend after undergoing cardiac surgery according to NBC. In addition to Days, Reilly also served as headwriter on The Guiding Light. He also served as a staff writer on General Hospital and The Young and the Restless at various points during his career and was the creator of NBC's Passions where he served as headwriter up until the show's cancellation earlier this year.
