Is there ever a morning when you aren’t looking for your keys, shoes, purse or something.

Would it be different if, at an early age, you got in the habit of “a place for everything and everything in its place”?

If you always put the scissors back in the same drawer after you used them? If you hung your keys in the same place? If you could find the can opener?

Would getting dressed be easier if you hung you clothes the night before? Would you be late for work less if you were organized?

Just because we suffer and waste time looking for items around the house, we don’t have to condemn our children to the same fate (In fact, there’s help for us.)

How Cleaning My Room Changed My Life is the story of a boy who is in danger of losing everything, even a friend, because of his messy habits. The book shows how clutter causes problems, makes us go out looking wrinkled and unkempt and wastes time, and can be even more serious than that.

After the story, which has a happy ending, authors Huma Gruaz and Mark Rosenzweig continue with tips for cleaning up and keeping order. The publishers say parents will love this kid-friendly book that teaches children important skills for a lifetime. But they label it "for ages 2 to 92."

There's hope for all of us.
