I

Publisher’s of the blue candidate’s bio for children can’t be singing the blues.

Of the two most prominent children’s books to focus on presidential candidates – My Dad, John McCain by Meghan McCain and Barack Obama: Son of Promise, Child of Hope by Nikki Grimes, the Obama book is selling almost twice as well by Amazon.com sales figures.

As of this morning, My Dad, John McCain was 9,241 on the Amazon sales list. The Barack Obama book was 4,213.  (Like in golf, you want low numbers here -- the lower the number, the closer you are to the #1 bestseller.)

By these figures, Obama is “selling” about twice as well.  If the election turns out the same votes ratio, purchasers of children’s books could be seen as election predictor’s in the years to come.

The books themselves each have something going for them. They each offer a portrait of courage, hope and possibility. Neither will likely be remaindered after the elction, no matter which one wins.
