Designer, Cory Holtz

OK, not really addicts. Then again, game developers love games so yes, they probably could be called addicts. But no, the word addict sounds negative doesn't it? So maybe we should say it's a gathering of like-minded people with a deep, abiding love for interactive entertainment. That works.

The BAVGDG was founded in 2002 and is currently organized by game designer Corey Holtz who works for Marin County's Crystal Dynamics development company. Boasting over 600 members, the group holds a monthly meet-up so that artists, programmers, designers, marketing peeps, students and anyone else interested in game development can get together to network and talk about games, tech, financing and all other aspects of the game industry.

Meetups are informal and happen on a regular monthly basis at Jillians Bar in downtown San Francisco near the Sony Metreon. To attend a meetup or get more information, register at Meetup.com, then visit the BAVGDG meetup page.
