Alius Primoris, a Finalist in the Doorpost Film Project

The inaugural Doorpost Film Project, an initiative that  recognizes, honors and equips filmmakers whose work depicts the core of life, its struggles and its purpose, is off to a great start. The first round of the contest attracted nearly 300 entries, with the top 15 receiving $10,000 to be used in the production of a second short film. The contest culminates in Nashville, Tennessee USA, September 10-13, 2008 with a showing of selected short films, awards presentation and a training symposium.

The third-place winner will receive $20,000, the second place winner will receive $30,000 and the first place winner will be awarded $100,000 and a trip to Los Angeles to meet with development studios.

These events are designed to allow interaction between filmmakers and the audience of their films. The symposium will run concurrently with the film exhibition allowing interaction among filmmakers, industry professionals and investment managers interested in further developing the funding of film.
