On Wednesday, Bernard Hopkins held a press conference to talk about his upcoming fight here in Philadelphia at the Liacouras Center December 2 against Enrique Ornelas.

Fittingly, since much attention was given to the fact that the fight will be a return home to Philly for Hopkins, his accomplishments in the ring were recognized by John DiSanto of PhillyBoxingHistory.com with the 2008 Bennie Briscoe Award.

The award--a beautiful sculpture of legendary Philly boxer Bennie Briscoe--is given to local Philly boxers for outstanding achievement. Hopkins received the award for his decisive win over the younger Kelly Pavlik last October in Atlantic City.

You can see the footage I shot of John DiSanto's presentation below.
