Special Ed: Does this XKR make you feel good? Give you wood, perhaps?
To answer the questions in order, yes and no. Yes, because it’s so blatantly un-Jaguar. No, because that would be weird (and possibly criminal). This unique special edition, named the XKR Goodwood Special (or GS by me), is so in your face with its Lime Green neon paint and stickers that it’s impossible not to notice it.
Coming from the luxury car manufacturer known for understated elegance, this is a real breath of fresh air (unlike the recently-revealed photoshop-excuse-for-a-new-car XJ). For starters, instead of classy chrome, it’s got “satin graphite” accents on the grille, hood, and other areas (see if you can spot them all in the gallery below; hint: mirrors, but there’s more!).

The GS is louder and more EXTREEEEEME than any other Jaguar in recent memory. Under the hood is a modified supercharged 5.0 liter which under normal circumstances would take the car to 60 mph in 4.6 seconds; this one puts out 530 horses and 516 lb-ft of torque (+20 horsepower and +55 lb-ft), which will get it to highway speeds that much quicker while screaming through a new exhaust system. The press release also mentions a lowered suspension which brings the green bomber closer to those dark 21’s.
Jaguar says one-off, but if you want one and call in, I’m sure the people at the Leaper will be more than happy to build you your very own. Despite the attention-grabbing shade of BAM and the increased performance, the presentation of this vehicle was really about something more. It was about Jaguar saying they can slap you around if they want. They just usually don’t.
