Patrick Alparone is an East Bay native. The older of two brothers, he holds a degree in theatre arts from Sonoma State University. Before getting into theatre at age fifteen "to meet girls", Patrick grew up wanting to be a tow-truck driver, a fireman and a writer. The son of a bartender and a radio broadcaster, he has found in his adult life that the only thing outside of acting that he has a knack for is "homelessness" (he is on the hunt for a room). He is currently performing in SKIN at the Climate Theatre.
Six Questions with Patrick Alparone:
1) What is one thing that you do before every performance?
I try to avoid rituals. I always fail. I have a cup of coffee and a big bottle of water; that's the one pre-performance ritual that has endured over the years. Of course this has led to the subsequent ritual of sprinting to the restroom after curtain call.
2) What is your favorite role that you have performed?
Hamlet.
3) What is your theatre pet peeve?
I suppose the only pet peeve I have is empty seats.
4) What role would you love to play that you would never be cast in?
Josie in Moon for the Misbegotten. Sadly, I'm not Irish.
5) Who would you like to see naked?
I don't know about naked but I'll tell you this: I'd take Chloe Veltman out for a steak dinner at Ruth's Chris. Appetizers too!
6) What's next?
One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest at SF Playhouse. I'll play Billy Bibbit. It should be a great show.
