Writers should never sit back and assume they know it all. To stay current in the industry and to keep your skills polished, you need to keep learning.

Going to writers conferences is great, but not everyone can afford the cost. Fortunately reading websites and blogs written by authors, agents, publishers, and editors is a great way to stay current with trends, pick up some great tips, and get that much-needed encouragement.

Writer's Digest publishes a list of the 101 Best Websites for Writers. If you haven't seen it yet, got there and pick some great sites to bookmark for your continued education.

Another fun website is Dr. Wicked.  It's a  productivity prompt -- you select a word count goal and time goal and type away. I like to play with it when I only have 10 minutes or so to write. Words pour from you fingers to the keyboard when your being challenged by the clock.
