
Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars (DS) – The first Grand Theft Auto game for the Nintendo DS is a top-down perspective similar to the first couple of GTA games. The game does take place in the GTA IV Liberty City however and has you as the son of a Triad boss who has been assassinated in Hong Kong. Now you must travel to Liberty City to deliver an heirloom to a family member but ouy get more than you bargained for.
Resistance: Retribution (PSP) – Retribution takes place between Resistance 1 and 2 with you playing as James Grayson, a British soldier who is on a mission to destroy every conversion center in Europe to avenge his brother’s death. The game will also feature 8-player online multiplayer.
Pokemon Platinum (DS) – The game is actually an enhanced remake of Pokemon Diamond and Pearl which dropped back in 2007. This version, however, has new characters, mascots and others new abilities. Pokemon Platinum came out in Japan last fall and sold 1 million copies on its first two days.
Pro Evolution Soccer 09 (Wii) – This game came out for all of the other consoles last fall, but this Wii version has an enhanced shooting and control system. The defensive system also is said to be improved. The game features all of the major World Cup national teams as well as the club teams from Ligue 1 (France), Eredivisie (Netherlands), Premier Leauge (England), La Liga (Spain), Serie A League (Italy) as well as the UEFA Champions League.
Scrabble (PSP, DS) – It’s a digital version of the popular board game but also features different modes like classic, speed and Scrabble Jam, plus an in-game Webster dictionary. There are six levels of game plays where 2-4 players can play at one time.
Wheelman (Xbox 360, PS3) – The game stars Vin Diesel as Milo Burik, a driver who comes out of retirement to save an old flame. The adventure leads him to Barcelona, Spain where he ends up in the middle of a gang war. The game is mostly a driving adventure but does feature some on foot/third-person missions.
Ready 2 Rumble: Revolution (Wii) – The third game in the Ready 2 Rumble franchise is exclusive to the Wii and feature 20 new fighters. The game uses the Wii’s motion control to dodge, weave, and punch opponents. By the way, Michael Buffer is the announcer.
Suikoden Tierkreis (DS) – This a spinoff of the Suikoden RPG franchise but takes place in an alternate world. The game supposedly has an in-depth storyline with fun battles and missions. So far it’s been a success in Japan.
Valkyrie Profile: Covenant of the Plume (DS) – This is the latest game in the excellent Valkyrie Profile role playing game series. This time you play as Wylfreda soldier who has beef with Lenneth Valkyrie for taking his daddy’s soul. You will help Wylfred get his vengeance.
Rune Factory: Frontier (Wii) – The Rune Factory series was apparently born out of the Harvest Moon series of games that’s comparable to The Sims and Sim City. You grow a farm and the harder you work; sprite-like creatures appear around it. Then your farm becomes a village and people start moving in and opening shops.
Black Sigil: Blade of Exiled (DS) – It’s a role-playing game where you play as Kairu as he tries to solve the mystery as to why a certain town is cursed. The game has more than 30 hours of a gameplay and a combat system that is a traditional turn-based battle system with the elements of tactics.
