Making the Band 4’s Donnie Klang Admits His Nerdism, Top 5 Games

Donnie Klang
For those unaware, Donnie Klang is the 23-year old singer from MTV’s Making the Band 4. He originally joined the show in an effort to join the group Day26. And even though he came in first in voting by fans and was selected to be in the band by the judges, Diddy made the final decision to offer Klang a solo contract with Bad Boy Records instead of being part of the group.

Now the singer has just put the finishing touches on his debut album, Like a Rolling Stone, due out September 2. He’s currently promoting the new single, “Take You There,” featuring Diddy.

We caught up with Klang and told him we really didn’t care about his skills on the mic, but his skills on the controller. Looks like he's not too shabby. Klang admits that he hasn’t been playing many video games since the whole Making the Band jumpoff started but he used to rock out to MVP Baseball, Tiger Woods Golf and several others. Apparently, dude had a problem.

“I was addicted,” Klang admitted. “Me and my friends, we would have these battles and we would get in arguments that would end up in fist fights! You don’t understand; we got really competitive about it. I’m very competitive; I have a very competitive spirit. But we would play NBA Live and online I would play Star Wars: Jedi Knight and Unreal Tournament. I used to be online for hours playing those games. Am I nerd? I really was… actually, I still am a nerd.”

The new season of Making the Band started on MTV last week showcasing the tour earlier this year that was headlined by Danity Kane with Day26, Chari Dennis, and Klang as openers. Looks like Klang won’t have much time to play games any time soon.

“When I able to get some down time, I’ll get back online and Unreal Tournament III will be the first one I pick up,” he said.

For now, here’s Klang’s 5 Favorite Games of the last 10 years:

Rainbow Six: Rogue Spear

Metal Gear Solid

  Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy

 Unreal Tournament

 MVP Baseball 2005
