NBA 2K9 (Xbox 360, PS3, PS2) – It’s a basketball week this week with three big releases coming this week. NBA 2K9 will try to stay on top as the best basketball simulation game with improved animations, a sped up tempo, and its Living Rosters feature.

NBA Live 09 (Xbox 360, PS3, PS2, PSP, Wii) – The NBA Live series once ruled all back in the 90’s, but it’s a different time now and the series is playing catch up with the NBA 2K series. This could be their year with improved game player and the Dynamic DNA feature aspect of their game.

NBA '09 The Inside (PS3, PS2, PSP) – Despite being at the bottom, Sony’s NBA series is kind of like an “underground” basketball game with a bit of a cult following. This year they’re bringing their popular RPG element of the game, “The Life,” to the PS3.

Fracture (Xbox 360, PS3) – Lucas Arts new game is a cool twist on the 3rd person shooter. Utilizing different types of grenades, you can reshape the environment you’re playing in. You can use grenades to build hills or create ditches or whatever you need to win a battle.

Crash: Mind Over Mutant (Wii, PS2, PSP, Xbox 360, DS) – There’s no stopping everyone’s favorite Bandicoot. He’s back again for another adventure. This time Crash can put his favorite mutants in his pocket. Huh? Cop it and find out.

Guilty Gear 2: Overture (Xbox 360) – Yes, Guilty Gear is finally in 3-D! It’s a real-time strategy, fighting game where you can control more than 50 servants in crazy battle. Seems like a good way to spend an afternoon.

The Legend Of Kage 2 (Nintendo DS) – Yes, this one for the old school heads who remember the classic arcade game. It’s updated for the Nintendo DS, but it still has the fun that kept you putting quarters in the machine.

Army Men: Soldiers of Misfortune(Wii) – The Army Men series has been on a decline for years. Now, in this new game, you play as a kid who gets shrunk down to the size of an army man, but his choice of weapons are dart guns, water guns, or tennis ball grenades to take out the enemy. Perfect for those kids.

Penny Racers Party: Turbo-Q Speedway (Wii) – The cool thing about Penny Racers, besides the micro-machine game play, is the officially licensed vehicles. You get to drive Mazdas, Hondas, Nissans, Toyotas and others with the ability to customize the rides. Use you WiiMote or WiiWheel to drive.

Bleach: Dark Souls (DS) – The Bleach anime series is a hit on the Cartoon Network, so it makes sense that related video games would be a hit too. Dark Souls has 44 playable characters, multiplayer action, and seven different game play modes. Clean off that sword and get ready for battle!

Spectrobes: Beyond the Portals (DS) – Beyond the Portals is the sequel to the first Spectrobes game, which was a pretty popular game. It’s a sci-fi/action role playing game that continues to follow the story of Rallen and Jeena.

North American Hunting Extravaganza (Wii) – If you’re anxious for the fall hunting season to start, maybe this game will hold you over a little while. You’ll be able to hunt more than 20 different wildlife including deer, moose, coyote, mountain lions and of course grizzly bears. You get to use shotguns, cross bows, rifles and a variety of others. Go ahead and get your Sarah Palin on!
