Grab a kleenex, turn up the volume and check out this new video from Friends of Animal Rescue

The non-profit group helps rescue organizations pay for medical costs and care for shelter animals so they can find loving homes.

The grass-roots effort was started last year by former television news producer Betsy Goldman, and has so far raised thousands of dollars for the city's neediest cats and dogs.

Broadway actress and passionate animal advocate Bernadette Peters is also lending her voice to the cause.  At a recent soldout fundraiser, Peters told the crowd how life just wouldn't be the same without her two dogs, Stella and Kramer, who she rescued from NYC shelters.

In her spare time, Goldman fosters needy cats and dogs in her Tribeca apartment and has so much fun she hopes you'll consider fostering too!
