Inflammatory Bowel Disease is a chronic and painful disease that affects approximately 2 million children and adults in the US. IBD that develops in children is often more severe than when it develops in adults.

New research has discovered genes that may increase IBD development in children. Scientists hope that this new discovery will aid in treating IBD suffers based on their genetic makeup. The scientists caution that while this breakthrough is exciting, more research is needed.

Do you have a child with IBD? What are the issues your child faces?
