Halloween is a fun time when parents and kids alike get a kick out of things that go bump in the night. There is one thing that send shivers down a parent's spine that isn't so fun - the search for a perfect Halloween costume.

The economy is on a roller coaster and families are tightening their belts and sticking to their budgets. So nothing is more frightening to the family wallet than the thud of Halloween costume magazines hitting the mailbox with their upscale, expensive costumes that are only going to be worn once.

I mean let's face it, the beloved Hanna Montana costume that is this year's must have is going to be an "Awww man!" next year. So we've scanned the web for the best, easy to make Halloween costumes just for you!

  • Parents.Com - 21 costumes made by real moms!
  • Quick and Simple.Com - Creative and fun costumes including jellyfish, poodle, candy corn and spider - oh boy!
  • AllYou.Com - Easy directions and templates to keep costs down and creativity up!
