Michael Jackson’s 1983 groundbreaking video Thriller changed the music industry, and had a profound impact on popular culture, and it is still impacting our culture 26 years later. This weekend is the third annual Thrill the World. This event is a worldwide attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the largest number of people simultaneously dancing Michael Jackson’s Thriller. Lessons and rehearsals have already started. But, there are instructional videos on-line, so you can learn at your own pace, but you do not have long, because Thrill the World DC will take place this Saturday, October 24th at 8:30 pm at Freedom Plaza [Pennsylvania Avenue, NW-between 13th and 14th Streets]. Parking is very limited, so public transportation is the best method of travel. You can take the red, orange and blue lines to Metro Center and walk a few blocks or catch the orange and blue lines to Federal Triangle and also walk a few blocks.
