Denver has many amazing parks but Washington  Park is our very best.  Located on 165 acres of Denver's best real estate, Wash Park has two beautiful lakes, and boasts  Denver's largest flower garden, which is a replica of former first lady, Martha Washington's flower garden at Mt. Vernon, Virginia.  The park is surrounded by more than 7,000 of  Denver's highly educated residents.  The neighborhood is manicured and very safe.  Some of Denver's best restaurants, coffee shops, and shopping spots are located within walking distance too.  Here are some of the many fun things to do at the park.

  • Roller Blade,
  • Paddle Boat (you can rent a paddle boat and zip around the beautiful lake,)
  • Frisbee (and even midnight, glow in the dark Frisbee,)
  • Volleyball,
  • Tennis,
  • Picnics (you can even bring the BBQ and grill,)
  • Bocce Ball,
  • Dog walking (and dogie socializing,)
  • Swing (there is a full playground for the kids,)
  • Bike (you can even rent multi-person bikes at the park,)
  • Duck and squirrel feeding (the wild life is flourishing,)
  • Snow shoe (throw snow balls and even ski after the snow comes down,)
  • Walk (or jog or even run if you like,)
  • Work out (there's a recreation center on the property,)
  • Block party (many of the residents have block parties for their friends and neighbors,)
  • Meet people (Denver's best looking singles and families hang out, play, and meet here.)

The energy is infectious at Wash Park!  While you are there check out Bonnie Brae Ice Cream for the best cone in town. Wash Park Grille is my personal favorite for brunch, lunch, or dinner, and is very close by.  Drop in to the Kentucky Inn for a cold beer after your walk. If you need a perk-me-up bike over to Stella's for a cup of Denver's best coffee.
