Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora along with producer Don Was and Iranian singer Andy Madadian have recorded a bilingual (Farsi/English) cover of Ben E. King’s Stand By Me as an online video. The song is not intended to be sold but rather to be downloaded for free and distributed across the internet as a message of solidarity to the Iranian people.

Recorded just days ago on June 24 in Los Angeles, Billboard magazine reports that Was and Madadian had originally gone to an LA recording studio to record the song themselves and just happened to run into Bon Jovi and Sambora who are currently recording a new album. The pair offered to join in on the recording which was completed in four hours. The video was posted by Was on his page at My Damn Channel on Saturday and has quickly spread across the web.
