Iggy Pop’s music has appeared in several commercials and he himself recently appeared in a series of commercials in Britain for the car insurance company Swiftcover. The ad campaign stirred up a bit of controversy due to the irony that the company does not insure musicians.

In the French press conference in the second video below, the interviewer opens the conversation by asking about the controversy surrounding the Swiftcover ads. Iggy is amused by the question and eager to respond. After explaining that, “in Britain it is not possible by law for a major insurance company to insure several occupations,” he comes right out and says, “I don’t give a shit. I don’t care anyway. I did the gig, it was cool. I was good.” Iggy goes on to discuss his new album for the remainder of the interview.

I doubt the Geico gecko has anything to worry about, but here's a look at several of the commercials currently running in Britain.
