The Bunnymen's new single, 'Think I Need It Too.'

Echo & The Bunnymen have issued the following statement canceling their upcoming U.S. tour dates for the month of November:

“It’s with the deepest regret that Echo & The Bunnymen have had to cancel their USA November tour. This is due to unreasonable demands been presented by the IRS for the band to enter the USA to tour. This is not a VISA issue as some websites have stated. Echo & The Bunnymen will be touring the USA from East to West coast in April 2010. Please contact venues for refunds.”

The statement does not specify the demands of the IRS that the band considers to be unreasonable nor does it explain why those same conditions would not apply to a 2010 tour beginning in April. Details of next year's tour have not yet been announced.

The band recently appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! to promote their new album The Fountain currently available at bunnymen.com in three configurations. The deluxe package comes with a randomly selected piece of sheet music signed by Ian McCulloch and Will Sergeant along with a t-shirt, CD and high quality digital download.
