This scary mix of Halloween songs sounds best with the lights out and is in many ways, a continuation of the dark mix. The set is book-ended by a pair of Siouxsie And The Banshees songs beginning with the perennial favorite ‘Halloween’ and holiday season would not be complete without a little Marilyn Manson and at least one Misfits song. Arguably, The Misfits entire catalog could qualify as Halloween music.
Three of the tracks included in this scary mix are live versions: ‘Shadowplay’ by Joy Division, Jane’s Addiction’s cover of The Rolling Stones’ ‘Sympathy For The Devil,’ and The Pixies’ ‘Ed Is Dead’. Also featured are several songs that are favorites among Houston’s original goth community including ‘Haunted When The Minutes Drag’ by Love And Rockets, ‘All My Colours’ by Echo & The Bunnymen, and ‘Love Like Blood’ by Killing Joke. If you’re still not scared, The Who’s John Entwistle may change that when he sings ‘Boris The Spider,’ a song that could make anyone with arachnophobia a little nervous.
