Conservatives were missing their cheerleader today and liberals were missing their antagonist all because of a small appendage to the large intestine no longer than a few inches.  Glenn Beck's appendix was causing problems today and he was later taken to an undisclosed hospital where he had an emergency procedure to have it removed. 

Speaking from personal experience I can sympathize with Beck as I too once experienced an appendicitis in the middle of the day and was forced to go from work to a hospital.  I can tell Beck's followers that it may be a few days until he is back if he underwent an emergency removal as I did.  Unlike the laparoscopic procedure (involving a few small incisions) an emergency procedure can involve a larger cut.  I was out of the hospital the next day after my emergency procedure but it was five days before I was able to return to work because of the pain.  Of course I had to stand to do my work so Beck could conceivably come back sooner if he remained seated.

In all seriousness I wish Beck a speedy recovery.  I certainly oppose most of his views but I do not wish the pain of an appendicitis on anyone.  If Beck is forced off the air I would like to see it done through a boycott instead of any health issues.  What would really be funny is if Anita Dunn calls Beck at the hospital to wish him well.  Perhaps Beck will finally get that phone call from the White House he so desperately desired.
