Ford MustangHave a good “Mustang story”? Did something happen to you in a Mustang (that you can tell about) or did you do something with a Mustang that you think the world should hear?

Ford thinks everyone does and so Ford is having a contest, and the prize for the best 250-word tale “could mean” a new 2010 Mustang and an all-expenses-paid trip to the Los Angeles International Auto Show for the unveiling of the new muscle car in November.

For details on how to enter the "Mustang Stories" contest, visit www.the2010mustang.com.  Stories must be in by midnight EST on Oct. 15, and there will be public voting on the entries from Oct. 18-30 with the winner announced Oct. 30. Ford doesn’t say, but with thousands of submissions coming in there’s certainly going to be a winnowing (as well as a bit of censorship…and you know who you are) before the top stories are posted for voting.

The 2010 Mustang website will allow visitors “to read other Mustang Stories entries, submit photos, match stories with Mustang photos from Ford's extensive photo archive, review the proud heritage of the Mustang and enjoy sneak peeks of the 2010 Mustang.” Mustang fans can also sign up for updates on the 2010 Mustang which will be revealed at the Los Angeles Auto Show on November 19.

The next generation Mustang arrives in showrooms in the spring of 2009. In the meantime, put fingers to keyboards. Says Fritz Wilke, Mustang honcho, "With more than 9 million Mustangs sold, we know there are lots of great Mustang stories out there. We'd like to hear from everyone."
