2010 Grand New Bentley teaser photo of C-=pillar

It turns out we were right in our prognostication of the Pebble Beach Concours d’ Elegance as the venue of the debut for the Grand New Bentley.

The Grand New Bentley, the successor to the venerable Bentley Arnage, won’t be called that. We know that officially.

2010 Grand New BentleyNot much else has been revealed, however. We’ve speculated earlier about what the Grand New Bentley would be, an imposing sedan of Brobdingnagian proportions and Herculean power, much like the outgoing the Arnage, except maybe a little heavier on the Herculean part. In other words, a wheelbase of 122 inches and an overall height of about six feet, with at least 500 horsepower from a twin-turbo V-8. But that’s just our educated guess, which we explained in greater detail earlier.

We also played Bentley’s game by showing a teaser photo of the front end, which follows the classic big Bentley theme. Above is the Bentley Arnagesecond teaser Grand Bentley photo, this of the C-pillar on the right side. From what we can see of the new four-door, it has a pronounced kick-up over the rear fender where the Arnage had a shoulder line continuing through to the rear. The teaser shot of the Grand New Bentley also shows what appears to be a “tunnelback” design, with an inset rear window.

We can’t say much more than that, at least until the Pebble Beach concours in August. Unless, of course, Bentley decides to tease us again before then.
