Porsche Panamera gets auto start/stop feature, trick rear spoiler and super air suspension

Porsche continues to mete out details about its forthcoming super-four seat Gran Turismo—“sedan” is hardly appropriate for the Porsche Panamera—for the media to respectfully dole out to eager Porsche fans. We dutifully comply and we expect you to do your part as well.
The newest info: To improve fuel economy, the Porsche Panamera will have the first automatically-shifting double-clutch transmission with automatic engine start/stop feature. This feature will reduce fuel consumption by turning off the engine whenever the car is stopped. The downside? No nifty exhaust burble while sitting at a traffic light. Ah, the things we do for Mother Nature.
The Porsche Panamera will also have a multi-stage adjustable rear spoiler. Forget the old on/off up/down deployable spoilers. They’re so last week. The new rear spoiler on the Panamera will position itself for the optimal combination of maximum downforce with minimum drag. Alas, no photos yet.
The adaptive air suspension of the Panamera will be able to provide extra air volume on demand. Porsche calls this an “absolute innovation in automotive technology,” providing an “even greater variation of sporting and comfort features.” It will be standard on the Panamera Turbo and optional on other models.
Stay tuned for more details. The Porsche Panamera debuts on April 19, 2009, at the Shanghai Motor Show, prior to its U.S. on-sale date of October 17, 2009.

Illustrations courtesy Porsche Cars North America. Where's the promised rear multi-position spoiler? We don't see any seams on the bodywork of the Panamera Turbo. Perhaps it's that black panel aft of the rear window. Note the little bit of concavity at its rear edge where it meets the panel behind it.
