We told you about the 2011 Porsche Boxster Spyder, a special stripped-down and hotted-up version of the Porsche Boxster S in an article yesterday. The Boxster loses its air conditioner and radio in the the spirit of the original 1953 Porsche 550 Spyder--not that the basic Porsche had any air conditioning other than its air-cooled engine--and gains lightweight aluminum doorskins, a special rear deck with dual headrest fairings and a minimalist fabric top that disassembles and stores in the trunk.
Now comes the official Porsche Boxster Speedster video. Released yesterday, the Porsche-prepared video, Unleashed. The new Boxster Spyder, shows a white Boxster Speedster in action, driving through mountain passes. One must know that the exhaust is echoing off those stone walls, the audio equivalent of watching yourself drive by, reflected in storefront picture windows.
But wait. In a video about a car that Porsche touts as not needing a radio because it provides its own soundtrack...all we get is music overlay of the video element? For shame, Porsche.
Nevertheless, we'll watch the video anyway. Here is it:
