Cornerback Devin McCourty will look to follow his
brother's footsteps as a Rutgers football captain
Rutgers head coach Greg Schiano announced yesterday that his team will have three captains for this upcoming football season.
Center Ryan Blaszczyk, linebacker Ryan D’Imperio and cornerback Devin McCourty will attempt to lead their team to a fifth consecutive bowl appearance with hopes of a conference title.
All three captains are seniors and have been at Rutgers for the duration of their college careers. All three players are also New Jersey high school products.
Last season, Schiano named an unprecedented six captains (four on defense) for a team that won its last seven games. All of last year’s captains have moved on from Rutgers.
