LAS VEGAS –-Finally, I am off the doggone story concerning international icon Manny Pacquiao.

“I am really excited about that,” a smiling and visibly confident Pacquaio said after the prefight press conference on Wednesday. “I am excited to have my father watching me fight for the first time.”
Since Pacman was in his usual jovial public mood, I decided to press my luck and push on about the dog consumption tale.
Was it your father who chowed down on Fido, I asked.

“No, my dog was eaten by a neighbor,” Pacquiao said.
This close to fight time I decided it would be best not to ask if the neighbor satisfied his canine hunger hot or cold.
Pacman’s current dog, a Jack Russell terrier, is here in Las Vegas and has been romping around the outdoor track at UNLV with the popular fighter.
