
Corey Perry is often known as the second half of the Getzlaf-Perry dynamic duo, or sometimes as Ryan Getzlaf's sidekick in crime, Perry admitted it himself in a post-game interview. Perry was rewarded as the number one of the game after which he praised his linemate, Ryan Getzlaf, saying that being on a line with the alternate captain is pretty simple, admitting that the main job he has is to keep his stick on the ice, Getzlaf does most of the other work.
At the same time, Perry does contribute significantly to the powerplay as well with his strong 6'3 frame a stellar screen in front of the goalie. Perry tallied an impressive 72 points (32+40=72), including 8 game winning goals and 10 powerplay goals, a +10 rating, and 109 penalty minutes.
Not only does the 24 year old have an impressive point total and rankings, however he also an important part of the top line, as well as the powerplay unit. Perry also contributed in the playoffs with a total of 14 points (8+6=14) in 13 games played with 2 powerplay goals, 1 game winning goal, and 36 penalty minutes.
Another common occurance with regards to Corey's playing style, is that he is one of the players who spends the most time lying flat on the ice, whether it is after being hit, tripped, or just mysteriously falling. When interviewed with linemate Ryan Getzlaf, when asked why they were constantly paired together, Getzlaf admitted that very few other players are patient enough to pull someone off the ice as much as he does for Perry.
Perry was also recently invited to the orientation camp for Canada's National Men's Hockey team, and is one step closer to being chosen as a player on the 2010 Canadian Hockey team.
Perry is also not a unrestricted free agent until the 2013/2014 season, and until then look forward to four more seasons of undisputed talent, skill, and goals.
