Wednesday night gave Anaheim the revenge 3-2 victory over the Minnesota.

After letting a three-goal lead slip from their grip just eight days earlier, Anaheim almost let the same team from Minnesota pull a comeback victory.  However this time, it was the boys from Southern California who came out on top, no overtime necessary.

Corey Perry proves yet again he is a force to be reckoned with by scoring another two goals bringing his season total to four.  Perry started off the scoring under two minutes into the first with a beautiful play starting with a pass interception, ending with the first display of his talent and patience as well as the puck in the back of the net.  Perry would strike a second time less than seven minutes later on a fantastic wrist shot that had every defender and Wild goalie Backstrom beat.

The second period marked one goal for each side, Anaheim striking first with Carter scoring on a feed from Mike Brown late in the second.  A little over a minute later, Minnesota would cut the Anaheim lead to only two-goals with an unassisted goal by Belanger. Minnesota didn't lose their determination, which ended up paying off in a slight way after Brunette scored with ten seconds left in the game.

An interesting few tidbits about the game, not one goal was scored on the powerplay or shorthanded, and Anaheim outshot the Wild by one shot, 36-35.  There were a total of ten penalties in the game, five to each team, including three to Artyukhin (one major, two minors) all in the first period.

So moving onto some controversial bit of news, yes Anaheim fans, the rumors are true, Andrew Ebbett is no longer sporting the black, gold, and orange.  Ebbett was placed on waivers Friday at 9am, with the stipulation that another team had 24 hours to claim him.  Before the 9am deadline this morning, Chicago Blackhawks claimed the 5'6 center.  Hopefully GM Bob Murray will prove to Anaheim why he made this move because as of right now, it looks like we just lost a dedicated player from the locker room.

Tonight marks the matchup between Anaheim and the St. Louis Blues at 7pm.
