Local game store franchise Gamer Doc is hosting a new game tournament in May. Unlike the last tournament that occurred in the beginning of April, this tournament will take place at both a local and national level, with a national grand prize total of 4000 dollars. The local tournament will start on May 1st, and conclude May 16th. The national final, consisting of the winners from each Gamer Doc store, will take place on May 30th.

This time the game in question is Halo 3, the last game of the Halo trilogy, the insanely popular first-person shooter that put the Xbox on the map. The Halo series was partially praised for its interesting storyline, but it was the highly engaging multi-player aspect that really made the series what it is today.

The competition will consist of 4 player teams, each with a designated team captain.

Each competing team MUST register and pay the registration fee by the end of day, April 24th, 2009.

To register, or pick up additional information about tournament rules and settings, visit Gamer Doc at Glendale Plaza 1132 Pulaski Highway in Bear Delaware. You may also contact the store by phone at 302-836-6952

The tournament will consist of 4 vs 4 team matches, with a double elimination bracket format. Each team will have 15 minutes to obtain the most points, or reach 50 total points in order to win a match. Those teams losing in the first round are moved to the Loser's Bracket, where they will have a chance to fight back to the top in a "best of 3" match. Those moving on to the Winner's Bracket will compete in "best of 5" matches.

For additional information such as game, weapon, and map settings, you may pick up an information sheet at Gamer Doc.

So gather your friends, and get to practicing. You've got less than a week to register!

For more info: Contact Gamer Doc at 302-836-6952 or visit the store in Glendale Plaza, 1132 Pulaski Hwy Bear, Delaware 19701
