Every other week throughout the rest of the summer, we’ll be ranking the biggest summer movies as they’re released (see previous rankings here). The rankings have nothing to do with box office receipts or critical reception – they are, admittedly, purely subjective and simply a fun way to rank the summer’s big movies by entertainment value delivered. Oh, and not EVERY summer movie released makes its way in to the rankings (or, put another way, sorry, Dance Flick fans fan). Just the biggies.

A few changes near the top of the rankings thanks to some stellar recent releases, and a big change at the bottom. Christian Bale and company should send Nia Vardalos flowers or something: It was hard to imagine any summer movie being worse than the egregious Terminator sequel, but My Life in Ruins was up to (or is it down to?) the challenge.

And off we go…

Coming soon: The Taking of Pelham 123, Imagine That, Away We Go (all open Friday); Year One, The Proposal (June 19); Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (June 24).
