Every other week throughout the rest of the summer, we’ll be ranking the biggest summer movies as they’re released. The rankings have nothing to do with box office receipts or critical reception – they are, admittedly, purely subjective and simply a fun way to rank the summer’s big movies by entertainment value delivered. Oh, and not EVERY summer movie released makes its way in to the rankings (or, put another way, sorry, Next Day Air fans fan). Just the biggies.
It’s still early, but so far, Star Trek has a Vulcan grip on the top spot, while one of last weekend’s new entries was kind enough to relieve Wolverine of its “Worst Summer Movie” title. For now, anyway.
