Looks as if Marvel is getting ready to end its latest ongoing storyline, best known as "Dark Reign," in which crooked Norman Osborn has essentially taken over the U.S. government and stocked the Avengers and X-Men with villains clad in the heroes' costumes. Meanwhile, you can expect DC's "Blackest Night" series, in which dozens of dead characters from days gone by rise zombie-like from the earth, to continue for the forseeable future.
As detailed on IGN, Marvel recently released a so-called "teaser" image of Osborn in his "Iron Patriot" outfit (a good way to evoke both Captain America and Iron Man) taking on Dr. Doom, once a trusted ally. Alright: Enough comic-book geekdom. Suffice it to say this is the first evidence that Osborn's machinations are about to backfire, which could lead to Marvel's characters getting back to normal.
Meanwhile, DC recently unveiled new "Blackest Night" miniseries featuring the Flash. Wonder Woman and Justice Society of America, set to debut in December and last for three issues. Which means the DC zombies may well be with us until the spring.
