The New York Giants defeated the Cleveland Browns yesterday by a score of 37-34. Is this the matchup we might find ourselves watching in the next Super Bowl? It would be a hard road for both teams (isn't it always?), but it's certainly a believable scenario. That bodes well for fantasy football team owners--many of whom are counting on at least one player from the stockpile of fantasy stars on these two teams. Let's take a look at how some of those players performed yesterday:

Eli Manning - 4-7 for 52 yards and two quick TDs to Domenik Hixon. Will his great run in the playoffs carry over and finally bring him big fantasy numbers this season? Draft him as a backup and hope so.

WRs - The top trio of Plaxico Burress, Amani Toomer, and Steve Smith sat this one out. They are all expected to be ready to play in the opening game. Burress is currently the only one worthy of a starting spot on your fantasy team.

Brandon Jacobs - Averaged a great 5 yards a pop last year but hasn't shown he can handle a full load yet. High risk/high reward player.

Derek Anderson - 4-10 for only 20 yards. He was better in his first preseason game, going 4-5 with a TD to Braylon Edwards. Anderson suffered a concussion and a bruised hand, but he has about three weeks to recover before the season starts.

Jamal Lewis - 6 carries for 13 yards. Lewis should have another strong season as long as Anderson keeps the passing game moving with Edwards and Winslow.

Braylon Edwards - Sat out after getting spiked in the toe heel. Will probably miss Saturday's game but will definitely be ready for the regular season. Edwards is a top-five fantasy WR.

Kellen Winslow - The perpetually banged-up TE returned to action and caught one pass for 10 yards. Still, Winslow has played every game for the past two seasons and belongs in the top tier of TEs.
