The good:

Jerome Simpson had 5 receptions for 114 yards. The rookie Bengal could emerge as the third WR--or more, if Chad Johnson doesn't recover well from his shoulder injury. Calvin Johnson went 3-76 with a TD for the Lions. That brings his total to 154 yards in his first two preseason games.

The bad:

Carson Palmer was 6 of 13 with an INT for the Bengals. Let's hope that's not a sign that he's going to repeat the 20-interception total he had last year.

The ugly:

Bengals WR Chad Johnson injured his shoulder on a hard landing against the Lions. His shoulder popped out and went back in. Johnson says he will be ready for the start of the regular season, but some past players with similar injuries have ended up having surgery on the shoulder. Follow "Ocho Cinco" closely if you have him or are thinking of drafting him.
