Michael is invited to join the panel for the Dunder Mifflin shareholder meeting.  Seeing the limo, Michael immediately assumes the best ans invites Oscar, Dwight and Andy along for the fancy ride.  When he is met with boo's and screams of hatred, Michael's view is drastically shifted.

With Michael gone, Jim attempts to get the office working only to discover that no one sees him as someone in a position of power, or at least someone who can fire employees.  When he discovers that Ryan is responsible for this skewed opinion, he is determined to make an example out of him.

When it is clear that Dunder Mifflin has not concrete plans to get the company up and running again, Michael vamps himself into a hole where everyone expects a solution after a 15 minute break.  After inviting Oscar to discuss his possible solutions, it is clear that he has no place in the hospitality suite, especially after calling the CEO stupid.  Michael, Oscar, Dwight and Andy quickly leaves the premises.

Ultimately, Jim punishes Ryan's work ethic by putting his office in the supply closet.
