Well so much for the word of Senator Harry Reid. After he promised Arlen Specter Senator from Pennsylvania seniority he backtracks and gives him the most junior position in all the committees. Arlen Specter the turncoat Republican was promised seniority after switching to the Democrat party. Sen. Reid claimed that will be decided after midterm elections. Apparently, Specter did not know about it since He told reporters that he retained his seniority both in the overall chamber and in the committees on which he serves. Specter said that becoming chairman of the Appropriations Committee was a personal goal of his, one that would be within reach if he were granted his seniority on the panel and placed as the third-most senior Democrat there.

Reid said that will be negotiated next Congress. So without any assurance of seniority, Specter loses a major weapon in his campaign to win reelection in 2010. Not to mention the Democratic primary opponents he is likely to run against.
Democrats maybe angry about Specter joking that Coleman will win his legal contest and reclaim his Minnesota Senate seat, assuring there would still be at least one Jewish Republican in the chamber.

So Arlen Specter turncoat traitor gets hosed by his new party. And he deserves it. In a bizarre statement Specter said: If we had pursued what President Nixon declared in 1970 as the war on cancer, we would have cured many strains. I think Jack Kemp would be alive today. And that research has saved or prolonged many lives, including mine.” So tell me Senator if Kemp died because of lack of research by republicans how did you live? Didn’t you have cancer? Senator If you think the republican party is so bad why did you stay in it since 1966?

Of course once a traitor always a traitor he was a Democrat before 1966 only to return in 2009. This guy truly is a modern Benedict Arnold. Democrats you got what you deserve and Specter so did you. Obama won’t keep his word about fundraising and campaigning for you. His word is as a good as Harry Reid.
