In one of the most sleazy underhand political maneuver ever done in this state. The sneaky Democrats led by Sen. Chris Romer, D-Denver the bill's sponsor and Sen. Abel Tapia, D Pueblo who rescheduled a committee for April 1st. Putting Senate Bill 170 on the agenda for a vote. The bill would allow in State Tuition to illegal immigrants. Ok Bill what’s wrong with that?

You see Sen. Mike Kopp asked Tapia to delay consideration until Friday April 3rd. Sen. Ted Harvey, R-Highlands Ranch had to attend to some personal family business with his father. Tapia allegedly said that he would have to ask the bill’s sponsor Sen. Romer. Both them knowing that Harvey would vote against the bill scheduled the vote when he was gone. Thus the bill passed out of committee by a 5-4 vote with one brave Democrat Sen. Keller siding with the Republicans.

The bill moves back to the Senate floor for final approval. The debate should not even take place the Democrats pulled a sleazy, sneaky underhand stunt to get a bad bill approved for purely their own political gain. It is a shame that Colorado has to follow in the footsteps of the national politics “do whatever it takes” attitude.

Federal law prohibits illegal immigrants from getting benefits other Americans can’t get. Despite the Law the Democrats are pushing this since there are other states that are doing it. If passed this bill would cost more than $200 million a year in lost tuition revenue. So let me understand I get out of the Military and want to settle in Colorado. I have to pay out of state tuition while an illegal immigrant gets in state tuition. Have you people lost your minds?
