On March 14 -18th of this year city of Thornton officials went to the National League of Cities annual Congressional City Conference. The city sent eight people to the conference trip that cost as much as $2,875 per person. The justification it was crucial notably networking with political heavy-hitters.
I understand networking, but to send eight people which is more than even neighbor Westminster sent, is a waste of money. There is no reason why two or three people at the most could have not got the same information and shared it with others. This appears to be personal networking more than City networking.
Republicans here is grand opportunity for those of you running for office next year to take advantage of frivolous spending by City Officials.
