Shopping Guide for the Single Guy
Let’s face it shopping is as much fun for men as a football draft is for women and done just as often. So the other day when my good friend Troy called me and asked if I’d help him shop I was thrilled. He’s currently on a dating streak and his closet can’t keep up. Since his last visit to the mall had been at least a year or two he didn’t have a clue where to go or what to buy. Here are some tips I shared with him.
- Troy was smart to enlist a friend. Invite your sister or close gal pal along whose opinion you trust and who knows your style.
- Shop on a week night. Try not to shop on a weekend, especially in August, since literally everyone and their mother will be back to school shopping. If only weekends work for you go as soon as they open.
- Know what you need. Take a look around your closet and make mental list of what you don’t have this will help prevent impulse buying.
- Wear comfortable clothes that make it easy to try stuff on. Troy wore shorts and a white t-shirt. This saved time since he was able try on collared shirts and sweaters without having to go to the dressing room.
- When in doubt try it on. Sure you may be a size 34-32 at most places but once you get home you might realize not all sizes fit the same.
- If you’re on a tight budget stick to the basics and head straight for the sale section. There are always sales during holidays and in between seasons.
At the end of the day Troy walked away with some nice booty (not the Kim Kardashian kind) and a huge grin knowing he wouldn’t have to do it again until next year.
